Rewinding back to my post on Global Trends, one of them I had mentioned was trending of Nostalgic Feels - making the audience feel a certain way by re-introducing the past. I took this into account by going through a list of childhood or past movies that I’ve watched that left a sentimental attachment to me. In this blog, I decided to list snippets of my most memorable and emotional scenes in animated films. Though you’ll have to watch the entire film itself to really understand why that is.

'Restoring the Heart'

The heart of Te Fiti is restored by Moana.

(Moana)

Moana sets out on a quest to save her people. Throughout her journey, she encounters a demi-god by the name of Maui, who aids her in her mission to become a Master Wayfinder. As they sail across the ocean waters they come against many challenges. On Moana’s path she not only fulfills the quest of her ancestors, but she finds her true identity as well.

'The Most Powerful Magic'

Kubo defeats the Moon King with the greatest magic of all: love and memories.

(Kubo and the Two Strings)

After staying out past curfew, Kubo summons an evil spirit from his past. Kubo is forced to flee, soon joining forces with Monkey and Beetle to help him find the sword unbreakable that would help him in battle against his grandfather and sinister aunts. Equipped with a magical instrument, Kubo goes through a journey to solve the mystery of his father and save his friends and family from his very own.

'The Part of the Red Sea'

Moses parts the Red Sea to lead his people to freedom.

(The Prince of Egypt)

The Book of Exodus is retold in this animation where the Egyptian Prince Moses discovered his roots as a Jewish slave, embarking on a mission to free his people from slavery. His brother, Rameses, the present pharaoh, denied his plea and was left to suffer the consequences as a series of plagues hit Egypt. Parting the Red Sea, Moses leads his people to freedom, drowning the Egyptian army. The 10 Commandments were then given to Moses by God, rules for his people to live by.

'Sacrifice of Bugs Bunny'

Bugs Bunny does the glitch move to save LeBron’s son as well as humanity.

(Space Jam: A New Legacy)

A New Legacy features NBA champion LeBron James on an epic journey as he teams up with the famous Tune, Bugs Bunny, along with the rest of the Tune squad in a basketball game against his very own son, Dom. The two got trapped in a digital world by villain A.I, and it's up to LeBron to get everything back to normal by leading the Looney Tunes to victory against digitized professional basketball players.

'Kaa & Mowgli'

Kaa saves Mowgli from Shere Khan

(Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle)

Mowgli is an orphaned child raised by a pack of wolves within the India jungles. As he grows, he learns the rules of the jungle with the guidance of a bear known as Baloo and Bagheera, a black panther. Though Mowgli is accepted by the other animals of the jungle, he is despised by the tiger Shere Khan. Soon enough, Mowgli will encounter other dangers in the jungle, such as his own human origins.
